Donnie Nietes, Aston Palicte to face off for WBO World Super Flyweight

A friendly face off in Hollywood — Donnie Nietes and Aston Palicte, both from Negros Occidental, were all handshakes and smiles at the Superfly 3 press conference.

On September 8th, both boxers will be fighting for the vacant WBO World Super Flyweight title at the LA Forum.

PALICTE, 27 yrs old, 5-7 height, natural Superflyweight, he had Mayol as the trainer, from Roy Jones Gym. NIETES, 36 yrs old,5-2,Flyweight champion, trained by ALA gym. Palicte is younger, he will used his height to just jab, jab and win points, until Nietes will be force to attack and used his vast experience to penetrate Palicte’s defenses. In the early rounds Nietes can handle Palicte’s punches as a Superflyweight, but because of age, body pain will be felt in the later rounds. Both fighter are hungry for a win, for Palicte this is his only chance to become a world champion and earned $ 25K, while Nietes had been a champion in lower divisions for 10 years. My prediction, I would like to see Nietes to win but, Palicte will win by KO on the last two rounds.
