SANTA MONICA, Calif. – They call him “The Axe Man.”

That’s Nicolas Walters of Jamaica, the WBA Featherweight Champion, who is undefeated with 24 wins and 20 knockouts to his name.

The 27-year-old exuded with confidence today as he showed off his physique and condition, coming into the biggest fight of his career against the “Filipino Flash,” Donito Donaire.

Doing the mitts with his father and trainer, Walters looked chiseled and declared. He is more than ready to chop down Donaire.

“Anybody who gets in front of me is going to get chopped down,” said Walters.

Walters has tremendous respect for Donaire, the undisputed Featherweight Champion of the world.

But he believes he is not only stronger, but more intelligent in the ring.

“Nonito has done a lot for the sport, but this is my time,” said the Featherweight champion.

The “Filipino Flash” was mobbed by the media today as he made his entrance at the 220 Fitness Gym in Los Angeles.

He too is extremely primed for the fight – 100 percent in focus and raring to show fruit of all his hard work in the gym.

“How will he chop down something he can’t see,” said Donaire.

Donaire looked fresh as he stepped in the ring to do some shadow boxing, inspired by the presence of his baby Jarel and wife Rachel.

Donaire is happy that Walters has prepared well.

The Filipino Flash says his speed and experience will take over when it counts.

“I’m ready for it,” said Donaire. “I never back down.”

Nonito’s father, Donaire Senior, believes in the ability of his son against the younger Walters.

“Maganda ngayon ang form ni Nonito,” said Donaire Senior.

The Donaire-Walters matchup is one of the most exciting matchups in boxing this year. Fans are eager to know who will prevail between the two known knockout artists
in the Featherweight division.

Walters predicted 6th round KO, I predict Donaire will win by TKO, my only concern is his eye brows, it might breed early, Walters jab is strong.
