LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Two months after Nonito Donaire’s victorious rematch against Vic Darchinyan, the “Filipino Flash” is expected to be back in the ring to slug it out with South African Simpiwe Vityeka.

Vityeke snatched the WBA 126-pound championship belt from Chris John last December.

“Dati si Chris John ‘yung pinakamagaling sa division at natalo niya si Chris John. Dati gusto ko makalaban si Chris John. Since si Vityeka na ‘yung champion ngayon, si Vityeka na ‘yung gusto kong makalaban for the title,” the Filipino-American boxer said.

Donaire added that although the contract is not yet finalized, he assures boxing fans that this fight will be one of the most exciting boxing matches for 2014.

Top Rank Inc. chief executive Bob Arum confirmed that the Cotai Arena in Macau is among the venues being considered for Donaire’s next fight.

“Whether it goes to Macau or not, we have to sit down with the Venetian people and they have to determine about it. But
I think we are gonna get it done there because it will be a great, great showcase for Nonito,” Arum said.

For his part, Donaire said he welcomes the opportunity to fight in Macau.

“I’m very excited kase malapit lang sa Pilipinas. Kung hindi man sa Pilipinas, okay na sa Macau kasi malapit at saka marami ‘yung mga fans na makapunta sa laban,” Donaire said.

Meanwhile, aside from being a hands-on dad, Donaire is keeping himself busy with his photography hobby. He said his passion is really in touching up his photographs.

Donaire is scheduled to fly to the Bay Area for the grand opening of his father’s own gym.
