For Filipinos, this Puerto Rican beauty is a familiar face.
Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres enjoyed a Philippine showbiz career shortly after her reign, spending five years in the Philippines.
She finally returned earlier this year as the Philippines held the Miss Universe pageant, and now she’s eyeing another return and some future projects.
“It’s been amazing the people with the same passion and the same love they embraced me with open arms and I felt very much at home and because of that, there’s many plans to go back to the Philippines and do some work,” said Torres.
While she’s excited to take on Philippine projects once again, she has a couple more reasons to return; her two children.
“It will happen at the right time when everything is set up, my kids still are excited to go visit and know it for the first time. So we’re excited it’s going to happen very soon. They haven’t been there yet but they’ve seen so many footage from Miss Universe and when I got on ASAP, I mean they’re excited. They’re excited to see mommy’s world.”
She admits her Tagalog is a bit rusty, but still has a message for loyal Filipino fans.
“Pasyensa ka na kalimutan it’s been a long long time but mahal ko kayo lahat. I’m hoping to be back very soon,” she shared. “I’ve been waiting for a long long time and although it didn’t happen in the summer, it will happen very soon.”
While Dyanara’s Philippine projects are delayed, kapamilya still have a chance to catch a glimpse of the beauty queen with the Filipino community as she judges the Binibini Pilipinas Pageant, which will air on the next few weeks.
