New York Gov. Cuomo urges President Trump to acknowledge COVID-19 as a “major problem”

NEW YORK — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo called on President Trump to not be a “co-conspirator” of the coronavirus, and finally acknowledge the virus as a major global problem.

“If he does not acknowledge that, then he is facilitating the virus,” said Cuomo. “He is enabling the virus.”

The number of COVID-19 fatalities in the U.S. surpassed 130,000 on July 6, following a dramatic surge in new cases that has put Trump’s handling of the pandemic into question.

For Cuomo, it begins with leading by example.

As of July 6, over 2.9 million coronavirus cases have been reported from coast to coast.

Health officials and state leaders are worried that the parties over the July 4th holiday weekend would cause a further spike in infections that could overwhelm hospitals.

Instead of addressing the country’s staggering coronavirus cases and deaths, Trump – in his July 4th speech assured Americans his administration has things under control.

Beijing has since called on U.S. politicians to stop distorting facts on COVID-19 related issues and to acknowledge that China has been constantly sharing information and epidemic updates with the international community.

All over the world — more than 11.5 million coronavirus cases have been reported with over 535,000 deaths.

The U.S. continues to lead global figures — with more than 250,000 new cases reported in the first 5 days of July alone.
