RICHMOND, Calif. – Court papers became available to the public this week which offered the first detailed account of the allegations made against 32-year-old Bay Area Pinoy teacher Ronald Guinto.

He faces charges of sexually molesting his own students.

Guinto reportedly recruited his victims through his organization entitled Camp Epic, an institution he founded in 2009. Camp Epic advertised a program that was designed to mentor young boys through recreational activity.

Guinto took students on trips to Mount Diablo State Park, San Jose, Yosemite, and Napa.

Investigators reported that Guinto would play lewd games that would lead to sexual abuse on numerous young boys.

Students have come forward describing the types of acts Guinto would perform on them.

One boy stated that Guinto allegedly asked to fondle him. Another boy said Guinto allegedly performed oral sex on him during a camping trip.

A similar camping trip was set for April. But police arrested Guinto on March 5 at Mira Vista Elementary School before he began teaching that day.

FilAm parents like Alex Pareja from El Cerrito say they are concerned for the safety of the children. Pareja has a seven-year-old daughter who attends second grade at Mira Vista Elementary.

“When we found out we were kind of mad,” Pareja said. “At the same time shocked, because everybody loves everyone here. The principal is good. The school is good. And the fact that that happened here is that it shouldn’t have happened at all.”

Police used a search warrant to raid Guinto’s homes in Vallejo and Richmond last week. They were able to obtain two computers, an iPad, and a smartphone that contained his DNA.

Guinto remains in custody at county jail in Martinez. He pleaded not guilty to 27 charges that included kidnapping, forcible oral copulation on a minor and forcible sodomy on a minor.

If convicted, he faces life in prison without possibility of parole. Guinto is scheduled to return to court on March 28.
