In Utah, a holiday surprise for Salt Lake City area residents recently pulled over by police.
In collaboration with the office of the state’s Fil-Am Attorney General Sean Reyes, rather than receiving ticket violations, motorists were surprised with gifts just in time for the holidays.
Reyes came up with the idea after seeing other police do similar pranks on YouTube. While unsuspecting drivers were stopped for real traffic violations, they were instead greeted with cash and gift certificates.
“We’ve got law enforcement, men and women who really care beyond just being great professionals,” he said. “They’re human beings and they want to lift people.”
