Cooking adobo for church

BRISBANE, CA — You could almost smell the vinegar, the soy sauce, the bay leaf, and other secret ingredients as they marinate the chicken.

This was part of 7 Mile House’s second annual Adobo Cook-Off fundraiser for St. Paul of the Shipwreck Catholic Church, located less than 10 minutes up the street.

For $25, customers had eight different styles of adobo that also came with unlimited rice and choice of drink — red horse beer or soda.

100 percent of proceeds went to the church, for a grand total of $1,750 raised.
