The U.S. Congress finally approved a broad disaster relief package to come to aid of those devastated by the hurricanes in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas, wildfires in California, and floods in the Midwest.
The relief package also includes assistance to victims of Puerto Rico’s 2017 hurricanes.
On Monday night, the House of Representatives passed the long-awaited bill that allocates over 19 billion dollars to assist victims of disasters across the country over the last 2 years. The Senate passed it on May 23rd.
The bill now goes to President Donald Trump to sign into law.
