SAN FRANCISCO — A Fil-Am family is demanding for action to be taken, after a large tree branch collapsed onto several people during a company picnic last Saturday — including their two year old daughter.
The incident took place at Menlo College in Atherton. A tree branch, fifty feet long and three feet in diameter, knocked down 2 year old Zee-Lin Garcia, fracturing her skull and tearing her eyelid. Zee-Lin has since undergone surgery for injuries.
Her Filipina mother, Jasmine Garcia, also suffered a broken toe and sprained wrist.
Reports say this isn’t the first time a tree has fallen on the campus quad.
Meanwhile, officials say both the college and the fire department will have tree safety inspections next week.
