A tribute for a legend. Friends, family, fans, and some Philippine basketball greats celebrated the West Coast book launch of The Maestro of Philippine Basketball.
“It means the world because our father, but we also grew up knowing very much sharing him as a father with all his boys to the men he mentored throughout the decades, to see and know personally and witness what he meant to them is very important,” said daughter Cecilia Dalupan.
The biography — which was put together by the family, colleagues, and players of coach Virgilio “Baby” Dalupan — was first launched in the Philippines last year, shortly before he passed away at 92 years old.
The book chronicles the life of Coach Baby on and off the court, as well as the history of the Philippines, spanning some 50 years.
