Chicago cop saves gun-injured teen’s life with a tourniquet

CHICAGO — A Filipino-American cop is being credited with saving a teen’s life with a tourniquet.

Last Tuesday, Chicago police officer David De Leon and his partner rushed a South Side neighborhood to help a 15-year-old boy, who was bleeding from his right arm. De Leon used a tourniquet to stop the blood flow.

Paramedics soon came and said De Leon essentially saved the boy’s life.

De Leon told the media that it feels rewarding knowing that a mother didn’t lose another child to gun violence in Chicago.

The boy was shot, while out with a group of people in a parking lot.
