REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Catholic leaders in the United States are stepping up in support of a humanitarian response to the immigration crisis along the border and, to lend a hand to the tens of thousands of youth who crossed the border illegally.

At a press conference on Friday in Massachusetts Cardinal Sean O’Malley backed Gov. Deval Patrick’s announcement that the state would potentially house up to 1,000 immigrant children while they wait to be processed by immigration authorities.

O’Malley reiterated Pope Francis’ message that the unaccompanied children must be welcomed and protected and committed the Archdiocese of Boston’s social service agencies to assist in the federal effort.

The Archdioces of Chicago and Pittsburg Bishop David Zubik have also offered to help.

Why don’t they sign an affidavit of support.
So they are financially and legally responsible
    For them

Americans cannot afford and willing pay
    To raise them

Send them home to their parents
They are problem of their own country

    There are homeless and struggling
Americans the Catholic Church can help

the sovereign vatican do arrest people hanging around with no business in the vatican city. the pope saying what he was actually quoted saying is bringing much controversies. will the pope direct guards to stop arresting people hanging around too long in the small vatican city?. i find this odd for a pope to side with humans unlawful actions of disrespecting the sovereignty of the USA, like a home invasion, entering sanctuary homes uninvited goes against christian teachings. the families of these abandoned children paid the criminal coyotes an average $5,000.00 to treacherous travel in illegally crossing the US borders, then cry wolf, assisted by bleeding heart socialists, sadly the pope included, condemning pro-legal, anti-illegal americans of their self made worst predicament they all subjected themselves, now are the faults of americans. to even use the tactic these are poor illegal alien children looking for a better life for themselves is so outrageous. so is it GOD’s calling to america, to absorb all the poor children of the world? is exactly what they are preaching. for america not to allow these illegal alien children and adults to stay in america is un-american, simply are making americans to a breaking point of animosity. the pope i am sure knows that, the need to put out the fire of anger among americans who have had enough of this self made human tragedy. the pope, i hope is praying for america not to self implodes.
