SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The media surrounded a San Francisco federal court building on Tuesday where suspended California Sen. Leland Yee pleaded not guilty to all charges stemming from a political corruption and organized crime investigation.

His charges include one count of conspiracy to traffic in firearms without a license, to illegally import firearms, and six counts of engaging in a scheme to defraud citizens of honest services.

Yee was reportedly working with Filipino dentist Dr. Wilson S. Lim of Daly City to convince an undercover FBI agent to buy illegal weapons from Mindanao.

Lim, 60, also appeared in court with Yee and entered a plea of not guilty to plotting to illegally purchase and smuggle weapons. He is out on a $50,000 bail.

Lim’s attorney Jonathan D. McDougall has declined Balitang America’s requests for an interview.

Meantime, Yee left court in a hurry after entering his not guilty plea.

He did not stop to make comments to the media.

Yee and Lim are expected back in court on April 11.
