CA Governor signs healthcare bill providing young undocumented immigrants full health coverage through MediCal

SACRAMENTO, CA — “We are the most un-Trump state within America when it comes to healthcare and I’m proud of that.”

President Donald Trump has called his move “crazy,” but California Governor Gavin Newsom proudly announced that he signed a bill into law — the first in the nation that provides some young undocumented immigrants full health coverage through the state’s Medicaid program, known as MediCal.

The deal, which emerged as part of a broader $213 billion budget will take effect on January 2020.

Currently, California covers children 18 and younger — regardless of immigration status. This law expands coverage to undocumented immigrants age 25 and younger.

“We’re providing healthcare for everyone — regardless of immigration status. If you believe in universal healthcare, you believe in universal healthcare,” said Gov. Newsom.

Fil-Am Assemblyman Rob Bonta, who co-sponsored the bill. Stressed that healthcare is a right, not a privilege for all, not for the few.

“In California, we believe that every person deserves true access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. Universal healthcare — everyone should have it.”

The law has its limitations, and only those who are low-income will get coverage.

About 90,000 immigrants are expected to benefit every year, costing taxpayers $98 million.

To pay for it, California plans to tax people — including legal residents — who don’t have health insurance.

“Why would you penalize a legal immigrant for not being able to afford the cost of insurance in a state where the cost of living is already outrageous?”

Others question why California would go to great lengths helping undocumented immigrants — when they broke immigration laws, and when there are legal immigrants desperately needing help.

“We have a lot of homeless problems in California. We have a lot of veterans that don’t have a place to stay. I think we need to take care of our own first before providing any kind of help or coverage to illegal immigrants.”

For his part, Newsom admitted that more work needs to be done when it comes to promoting universal healthcare. He pledged to further expand coverage in the state.

Immigrant rights advocates want California to also provide full health coverage to elderly undocumented immigrants. But Governor Newsom rejected that proposal this time around because it was too expensive for the state.

US Taxpayer paid $18.5Billion a year for Healthcare on illegal alien. Any illegal alien who enter the Hospital emergency room is FREE paid by US Taxpayer. Idea of giving healthcare for illegal alien, that all Democrat raised their hands will backfire, legal alien voters had a hard time to get healthcare and giving it to illegal will alienate legal citizen voters.

According to Jerry Formby (FPS Officer), his resentment as a Democrat have gone high… The California Democrats like uncle Robby and Gaven are really ruining the belief that Democrats are for the American people. In an interview, Jerry said that Democrats in Louisiana are more of the traditional type and better than California Democrats. In comparison, Louisiana Democrats are more concerned about the health and welfare of Americans and not illegal immigrants. In California , Democrats are not smarter than the squirrel and that the perpetuate or promote illegal immigration.
