CA considers expanding health care for undocumented residents

In California, the state with the most Filipinos and the largest number of beneficiaries of the president’s executive order on immigration, the governor may take the relief one step further.

California Governor Jerry Brown is considering expanding the state’s government funded Medi-Cal Health Coverage to undocumented residents that are protected by President Barack Obama’s new immigration orders.

Brown aides say they are reviewing the possibility to grant the coverage to the undocumented residents who are banned from receiving government subsidized health coverage.

Cost would play a major factor in the decision.
