Heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev has responded after he was suspended indefinitely by the California state commission for forcibly kissing a female reporter, Filipina Jennifer Ravalo, during a post-fight interview.
Pulev has denied this, and even said she’s not his type.
The incident happened last Saturday while Ravalo, a Vegas Sports Daily reporter, was interviewing the Bulgarian fighter on his boxing win.
Reporter Jennifer Ravalo, saying, “So, if Tyson Fury gets through Tom Schwartz, do you think you should have a shot?”
Pulev claimed he and Ravalo were friends and that he was so elated about the fight, that he kissed her. In fact, he said later that night, Ravalo and her friends joined him in a post-fight celebration.
But the Pinay said she had only met him for the first time the previous day and accused him of sexually assaulting her, claiming that he also grabbed her buttocks.
She has since hired high profile lawyer Gloria Allred to represent her.
“I did not encourage or consent to Mr. Pulev grabbing my face, kissing me or grabbing my backside. I was there at the event covering the boxing match as a professional member of the press. Kissing a woman on her lips without her consent and grabbing her is not acceptable.”
Allred said, “It is my understanding that the next commission meeting is set for May 14, 2019 in Los Angeles. Pending said hearing, we request that Mr.Pulev’s boxing license be suspended.”
