Brother of Pinay nurse allegedly slain by her husband speaks out

LAS VEGAS – In a heart wrenching conversation via phone patch from the Philippines to Balitang America, the brother of the Las Vegas Filipina nurse who was slain by her own husband expressed his anger toward his sister’s killer.

The remains of the late Daisy Casalta Dahan are finally home are finally home and were buried in her hometown of Bohol, Philippines.

“I hope he rots in jail,” Ramil Casalta said, referring to his brother-in-law Richard Dahan, 40. “I hope he suffers.”

Daisy’s family continues to seek justice for her death.

“We cannot accept how we lost her in such a gruesome way,” Casalta said.

Casalta added that they still cannot accept the fact that his sister left home, full of life and full of hope, only to come back to them dead.

“She’s sweet and nice,” he recalled. “She wanted to finish school so she could help support our parents. She wanted to have her own business. She had a lot of dreams. She never did anyone harm.”

Meanwhile, at a preliminary hearing in Las Vegas recently, Daisy Dahan’s husband Richard waived the hearing of evidence in his wife’s murder case.

He is expected to enter a plea in his next court appearance on March 12 at the Clark County District Court.
