REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A National Basketball Association player is claiming to be half-Filipino; probably in an effort to join the Philippines’ national team.

While two NBA players are working on obtaining Philippine citizenship to play for the National Team, one of them is now getting ridicule for claiming that he is half-Filipino.

Brooklyn Nets Andre Blatche is reportedly claiming to be half-Filipino. However, according to reports, neither one of his parents is Filipino. When his other teammates were asked about his alleged Filipino heritage, former all-star Joe Johnson jokingly said Blatche is full of expletive.

Blatche, along with Javale McGee of the Denver Nuggets are attempting to become naturalized Philippine citizens in order to compete for the Philippines during international competition.
