SAN FRANCISCO, CA — This Donald Trump protest rally in the Bay Area is being called Bridge Together Golden Gate.

According to organizers, the event at the Golden Gate bridge is a demonstration of unity and love, intended to show the new Trump administration that the people will be divided, and will not put up with the hateful rhetoric used throughout the campaign.

Protest participants are wearing purple as a sign of unity and anti-bullying.

The event was coordinated through a Facebook group of close to 20,000 members.

A crowdsourcing page was also created to pay for first responders and port-a-potties.

Organizers say that the remaining funds will be divided equally to the following: the Trevor Project, Planned Parenthood, and the southern poverty law center.

As of this morning, $22,000 of the $30,000 goal has been raised.
