SAN DIEGO, Calif.  – Leopoldo Pacuan the LBC express courier accused of murdering his coworker Raquel Morales pleaded not guilty at a San Diego courthouse this afternoon.

His arraignment was delayed earlier this week because of a need for a Tagalog translator.

Members of Raquel’s family filled several rows inside the courtroom, with many of them emotional as prosecutors. Raquel’s sister had collapsed. Raquel’s husband told Balitang America outside the courtroom that hearing the details of the alleged murder was very difficult.

Pacuan, who has worked for LBC since 2009 was arrested days after the 63-year-old Morales who was described as a well loved loyal employee of 13 years was found dead inside the store on May 18th.

Pacuan remains in custody on a one million dollar bail and is due back in court next week.
