25-year-old Genisis Libranza of Davao City has finally gotten a taste of the big lights in the U.S., winning a unanimous decision in his debut against Mexican American Gilberto Mendoza.
Libranza, showed his power, landing solid body shots throughout the 8 rounds.
Despite some heated exchanges in the cold outdoor Dignity Health sports park, Mendoza managed to take the punches — even giving Libranza a learning lesson, by changing his style.
Libranza’s record now stands at 18 wins and 1 loss.
Libranza, who’s promoted by Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions is among 50 fighters in the Pacman’s stable.
