BOSTON–At least one of the bombs that exploded close to the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday was packed inside a metal pressure cooker, filled with gun powder and shrapnel, law enforcement officials said.

Boston police investigators said the two bombs, which killed 3 people, including an 8-year-old boy and injuring over 180 people, were likely set off by a timer.

Investigators said they found black pieces of nylon at the explosion scene, indicating the bombs may have been wrapped in dark-colored bags, according to reports from Reuters.

President Obama, who is scheduled to travel to Boston on Thursday for a memorial service for the victims who perished, called the incident an “act of terror” at a press conference in Washington early Tuesday.

“This was a heinous and cowardly act and given what we now know about what took place, the FBI is investigating it as an act of terrorism,” said Obama.

Filipino American marathon runner Thomas Zaide was one of the lucky participants who walked away from the explosion site unscathed. He crossed the finish line minutes before the first bomb exploded.

“How can such a great event, something so historical for me, turn into such a tragedy?” asked Zaide.

Nursing student Allyson Lujares was also at the marathon as a volunteer. She said her handing out of power bars to the runners, and having been so close to the
bombing sites, has left her shaken.

“It was hard seeing them (runners) so hopeful and eager to run the race, compared to the faces that they had of fear, running for their lives,” said Lujares.

america is a free society, with such status restrictions can only go to a certain way, to a point of false sense of security. the so called home grown terrorists are known to be in existence. the student visas are granted to countries including the rich middle eastern countries. it has been proven, the terrorists who entered the USA mostly are on student visas, like the would be time square bomber, etc. its hard to accept, but highly likely terrorists are living among us. that’s why the government slogans are addressing the populace to report suspicious items like bags/backpack left behind or unattended which is well enforced in the entire USA airports. NY was the pioneer of the slogan after 09-11-01 – if you see something, say something. this is the generation of americans without option or choice, but to accept reality to live the lives, the islamists are in the forefront in their hate of america and its people for supporting/standing to defend israel, the number one, biblical enemy of islam. the return are vengeful act of terrorisms with deranged forceful power to massacre american lives, no matter what is takes. these terrorists where ever front they come from will not deter the american way of living, free from fear and intimidations, no way can these crazy killers win, to psychologically imprisoned the american spirits. as much as many aliens wants to migrate to america, be it legally or illegally, the truth is america are hated by many radical people, radical groups from foreign countries, simply because these radicals despised the american customs/traditions.
