Bones found over 2 decades ago identified as missing Pinay
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A startling development in the case of Jovita Collazo, the Southern California Filipina who went missing in 1992.
It took more than 20 years, but DNA testing has finally confirmed that the human remains found in a shallow grave in Apple Valley in San Bernardino, Calif. in 1994 belonged to 38-year-old Collazo.
Collazo’s ex-boyfriend Michael Richardson pleaded guilty to killing her in 2013.
Richardson also pleaded to killing two other people, his wife and his mother-in-law.
Richardson is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
He never revealed his motive behind killing Collazo.
