Body of missing Filipino from Chicago found in Michigan lake
MICHIGAN — The lifeless body of a Filipino man that mysteriously disappeared in a gas station last weekend was found in a lake in Michigan.
Michigan State police troopers identified the body found in Lime Lake last Sunday was that of Gilbert Druja – a 34-year-old Filipino-American from Chicago.
Surveillance video from a maple city gas station showed that at around 3 am Druja was seen walking away from his car.
On Sunday morning, Druja’s car was found still running with the gas pump nozzle still inserted in the vehicle.
Druja’s body was then found in a lake near maple city at 7:30 A.M.
He was reported missing on Friday afternoon.
The cause of death is still under investigation and an autopsy was scheduled last Monday in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
