Bernie Sanders vows to take on so-called authoritarian governments, including the Philippines

The Bern is blazing through Southern California.

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders went to Los Angeles over the weekend to hold rallies, and do television appearances.

As he pushes his campaign through America’s second-largest city, he reached out to ethnic communities and vowing to take on what he calls authoritarian governments, including the Philippines, which has been criticized by U.S. lawmakers for its ongoing war on drugs.

Sanders adds that President Donald Trump — whom some Democratic lawmakers are trying to unseat — has sided with other controversial world leaders.

While in Los Angeles, the 77-year-old senator also tackled immigration issues.

“Instead of demonizing people, instead of creating all kinds of fear in the hearts of people, what we do is move forward to comprehensive immigration reform, and path to citizenship to the 11 million people who are undocumented right now.”

Sanders isn’t the only one reaching out to ethnic voters.

Last week, Andrew Yang also met with ethnic media in a conference call.

Sanders is scheduled to take part in the second democratic debate on Tuesday night.
