SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Bao Down in the heart of San Francisco is a new Pacific rim fusion restaurant.

From baos, Porchetta, fried lumpia, and the restaurant’s signature kare-kare, Bao Down’s menu boasts of a fusion of not just tastes, but of cooking techniques as well.

With Marvin Agustin’s latest restaurant — 47th overall, and first in the US — the actor turned restauranteur says he hopes to introduce a different take of Filipino food and culture to Americans.

“It’s more than just the feeling of putting up a restaurant in the United States, it’s actually the feeling of opening a Filipino restaurant for the Filipinos here in the city of San Francisco,” says Agustin. “Yun ang pinakamasarap na pakiramdam. Yung mas nilalapit natin sa kanila, sa mga filipinos yung pinakamasarap na pagkain.”
