The Balangiga bells’ journey home will begin later this week.
Dr. Rolando Borrinaga of the Committee on Historical Research of National Commission for Culture and the Arts has said that a ceremony will be held this week at the Warren Air Force base in Cheyenne, Wyoming for the repatriation of two of the Balangiga Bells.
A third bell, part of a museum exhibit in South Korea, has been crated and will also make its way home.
No date has been set for when the century-old war trophy from the Philippine American war will arrive.
After remarks by President Rodrigo Duterte, U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis announced last August that the bells will be returned.
