Attorney General Sean Reyes named to federal Asian-American and Pacific Islander Commission

SALT LAKE CITY — President Donald Trump appointed Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes to the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders last Thursday.

Reyes, a Republican, joins 11 others on the commission, which was established in 1999. The commission’s mission is to work with federal agencies to improve the health, education, and economic status for Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders throughout the country as well as advise the president on issues facing the AAPI community.

Reyes’ father is of Filipino and Spanish descent, while his mother is of native Hawaiian and Japanese descent.
