Army vet accuses Sen. Al Franken of inappropriate touching in 2003
The latest woman to come out accusing Democratic Senator Al Franken of inappropriate touching.
It started with an accusation from a Filipino-American radio host — and now a total of five have come forward with allegations that Franken violated them.
Thea latest accuser — Stephanie Kemplin — is a 41-year old army veteran from Ohio who said Franken groped her in December 2003, while she was deployed in Kuwait.
Kemplin told CNN that she wanted a photo with Franken, who was on tour as a Saturday Night Live comedian then. She said he put his arm around her and cupped her right breast.
Kremplin, who was 27 at that time, said it lasted up to 10 seconds. She said she eventually turned her body to move Franken’s hand off her breast before the picture was taken.
In response to Kemplin’s revelations, Franken’s office said, “He takes thousands of photos and he has met tens of thousands of people, and he has never intentionally engaged in this kind of conduct.”
She is the fifth woman in two weeks to accuse Franken of sexual misconduct.
The first to come out was Filipino-American radio host Leeann Tweeden who said Franken kissed and groped her without her consent during a USO tour in 2006.
