Aquino: Peace, not anger over Mamasapano, should prevail

MANILA – President Noynoy Aquino marked the anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution by laying down a wreath in front of the People Power Monument.

It was a commemoration of the historic revolt that catapulted his mother Corazon Aquino to the presidency.

But another commemoration took place with hundreds of policemen and soldiers locked in arms in a unity walk.

This was for the first month since the Mamasapano massacre where 44 police troopers died in a botched anti-terror mission.

With emotions on this controversy still high, President Aquino once again drew from his father Sen. Ninoy’s Aquino’s assassination to call for sobriety.

Aquino said peace should prevail over anger and emotion, as what happened in EDSA 1986.

Celebrating anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution of 1986 is like living in failure and is contradicting the Filipinos quest for peace… Celebrating EDSA also advocates for continued disruption of government function. When Ninoy Aquino was alive, we remember him for his parallel ideology to North Korea and China Communism…as the result, he founded CPP-NPA as the mapayapang pagbabago sa Pilipinas…

While the PNP-SAF were in formation, President Aquino (with tense-serious facial expression) asked if there is anyone who wants share their thoughts regarding the Mamasapano incident. There was no reply. Yes, there was no reply but deep in their minds lies anger, hatred and regrets…Aquino was probably thinking…..that he is the president of the Philippines and that he can keep information to a minimum and do not say much. Deep into the minds of every PNP-SAF member, someone was saying A$$hole!
