Although the United States is well known for it’s democratic ideals, it is best described as a nation of laws. It is a sad turn in this century that what it used to be law abiding citizens lost respect for the established laws that made up this great nation. How is it that our very own Filipino community would settle for less and just accept such a change by way of wrongdoing. I am talking about the illegal immigrants led by Jose Vargas. So we have a Pulitzer-prize-winning Filipino journalist Jose Antonio Vargas that advocates wrong for wrong to become Americans? Is this the kind of values do we exemplify in our Filipino community this days. I see how it is…because we see Jose Antonio Vargas as a famous Filipino, does not matter how wrong could he be in advocating illegal immigration.

Every hard working and law abiding Filipinos sweat it out everyday to earn a living. Best of all, supporting their family earn a living, decent education and a better life. Should they need to go the any educational institution, Filipinos like any other citizens are required to produce identification and other documents. Whereas people like Jose Vargas does not have to comply and still be ahead of the line. Surprisingly, it would be illegal to ask him and his followers for identification? Similar situation is happening in hospitals. The fact and the matter is that it is draining state budget as well as the hospitals budget.
