The Antioch man who was arrested after allegedly abducting a 7-year-old Filipino girl has been charged with kidnapping and sex crimes.

David Douglas, 43, spoke to the media behind bars and says the government told him to commit the crime.

Douglas denies he suffers from mental illness but says he would like to see a psychiatrist.

Douglas, who police describe as Filipino, allegedly snatched Natalie Calvo in front of her mother as they arrived in front of their house in Antioch on Friday night.

He’s being held at the Contra Costa County jail in Martinez, in lieu of a $7 million dollar bail.
