Angry young activists take the mic at the UN Climate Summit, calling for change

NEW YORK — People are suffering, People are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction. And all you can talk about is money, and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you?” said Greta Thunberg.

That’s 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg at the climate action summit in New York City on Monday.

Prior to the attending this year’s United Nations general assembly – she had already one goal mind: for the UN Climate Summit to become a platform for people to finally realize just how critical and pressing climate change is for the entire world.

Thunberg made it clear, that she, together with millions of young climate activists around the world are holding the adults especially world leaders — accountable.

Thunberg said the science behind climate change has been crystal clear in the last 3 decades and yet adults have failed to live up to the promises made at the Paris climate accord.

In just a year, Thunberg has turned a personal school strike for climate awareness into a worldwide movement involving 4 million participants, mostly school kids like her.

Thunberg is no longer alone in this fight.

Thunberg and 15 other youth climate activists are suing 5 countries over the climate change crisis.

The young activists have filed charges against Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina, and Turkey for allegedly violating their rights as children. According to the lawsuit, the five countries are parties to the convention on the rights of the child – a treaty signed by dozens of countries some 30 years ago.

A delegation from the Philippines led by former Puerto Princesa mayor Edward Hagedorn are calling on the Duterte administration to take a strong, serious and sustained action to address the climate crisis.

The group also said they are seeking answers from the international court of justice with only one question: “in this climate crisis, what are the duties of states under international law to present and future generations?”

The signed resolution would be submitted to the Philippine mission on Tuesday afternoon.

GRETA THUNBERG the ROLE MODEL for children of Democrats, Environmentalist, and activist. Sweden is famous for their Dancing Queen, this time they imported a DRAMA Queen to UN.She said: “You have stolen my dreams, childhoods w/ your empty words, People are suffering and Dying. DESPITE the tearful claim of stolen childhood, suffering, death,GRETA generation has grown up in the most prosperous time in human history. Global HUNGER is all time low, fewer live in poverty then ever before. Life expectancy is UP, diseases is generally down. GRETA brought a DANGEROUS culture, It is the Culture on feeling of DESPAIR, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY and HATERED.As a PINOY parents I will never allow my children to join the environmentalist group, I rather give my children a happy, positive and lively life. This is the future for US children of activist, always angry as it there is no more future anymore.. As a PINOY parent time to move ahead, Greta culture is bad companion and bad environment…
