“American Idol” to showcase remote performances, including Fil-Am singer Francisco Martin

For the first time ever, viral TV singing competition “American Idol” will showcase the top 20 contestants doing remote performances — as stay-at-home orders remain in effect in America due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Since their pre-taped shows have all aired, for the next part of the competition, the contestants, host Ryan Seacrest, mentor Bobby Bones, and judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie will be filmed in different locations using their own devices.

Competing for a spot in the top 10 is Filipino-American Francisco Martin.

The Bay Area native won the hearts of the judges and viewers with his charming audition, which showed him trying to get over his stage fright.
