All four officers involved in the death of George Floyd now facing charges

Massive protests calling for an end to police brutality and racism have erupted in all 50 states.

6-year-old Gianna, the daughter of the late George Floyd, seemingly oblivious to the grief for now, but is cognizant of the changes her father’s death has sparked.

Floyd, an unarmed black man, died while in police custody last May 25 in Minneapolis.

Massive peaceful protests calling for an end to police brutality and racism erupted across all 50 states in the last eight days.

But these have also been marred by violent confrontations with police, as well as riots and looting in many cities, and as people continue to take to the streets — the wheels of justice also seem to be moving.

Amid calls for accountability, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar confirmed on Twitter that charges against Derek Chauvin, the white police officer who used his knee to pin down Floyd to the ground before he died of asphyxiation, have been upgraded to 2nd degree unintentional murder. He still faces third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

The three other policemen involved — Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J Alexander Kueng — all face aiding and abetting second-degree unintentional murder, as well as aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.

The Floyd family’s lawyer said he expects all officers involved to be arrested before George Floyd’s memorial on Thursday in Minneapolis.

He added that they also want charges against Chauvin to be further escalated.

“These officers are complicit by their silence,” said Benjamin Crump, a civil rights attorney. “Remember, one officer said ‘he doesn’t have a pulse. Maybe we should turn him over on his side.’ However, officer Chauvin said no. We’re going to keep him in that position. To us, that is intent. And that’s why the family is calling for first-degree murder charges against officer Chauvin for having his knee in his neck.”

More lawmakers speak up against Trump following controversial church photo-op

More backlash for President Donald Trump after his stunt to pose for photos outside a church, but not without having the police violently clear a peaceful protest first to make way for him.

“The option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort and only in the most urgent and dire of situations,” said Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense.

In an extraordinary move, defense official James Miller, resigned from his post, slamming defense secretary Esper for his role in Trump’s controversial photo-op while saying Trump’s actions on Monday night violated his oath to take care that the laws be faithfully executed as well as the First Amendment right of the people peaceably to assemble.

Meanwhile, in the backdrop of the massive black lives matter movement protest across America, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has now taken more than 106,000 lives and infected more than 1.8 million Americans.

“We’re not going to know what the effect of that is for at least a couple of more weeks because in order to determine whether a particular behavioral change has an effect on the incidence of a particular infection, like the coronavirus it likely is three weeks or more,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director.

Fauci added that the vaccine trials have been going well, and there is a good chance that the first batch of a hundred million doses could be available by the end of 2020 or the start of 2021.

The best photo, TRUMP holding the BIBLE, remember 75% of the voters are Evangelical Christian. After TRUMP interview at the Rose Garden, he walks out of the WH, went king to cross the street, and visited St Jonh Church which was burned down by the rioter the night before. TRUMP a Presbyterian was holding the bible, Christians were happy but pretend they were quiet… One of TRUMP critic was General MATHIS, he endorsed the $10 Billion contract for Amazon Cloud, but TRUMP cancels it and gives it to MICROSOFT. During the OBAMA regime, he cancels IBM and awarded AMAZON cloud the $600M/yr for 8 years contract. This is where BEZOS started and CIA Brenen brokered the sale of Washington Post to Bezos. Obama gave a postage discount to Amazon. MATHIS, together with his fellow Generals, former OBAMA Press Sec Barney/staff planned for the $10Billion contract under TRUMP Admin, but failed. This is $10 Billion I wonder how much Gen Matthis will earn.
