LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Arguably the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali took a jab at Floyd Mayweather, JR this weekend.

Following Mayweather’s win over Marcos Maidana, Ali tweeted,“Congratulations Floyd Mayweather. Maybe after you rest up we can see you rumble with Manny Pacquiao”.

Ali has a verified Twitter account and all tweets with the hashtag “Ali tweet” originates from the boxer himself.

As of this morning, the Ali tweet has been retweeted 19 thousand times and favorited by over nine thousand followers.

More than 16 thousand fight fans were in attendance to witness the undisputed pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather JR go up against Argentine boxing superstar Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last Saturday.

Maidana’s fighting skills and tenacity against Mayweather was impressive showing aggressiveness and well-thought out defensive moves to combat Mayweather’s punches.

In the end the judges scored the fight 114-114, 117-111, and 116-112.

Mayweather won via majority decision the unification belt of the WBC and WBA Welterweight Championship.

“He was a tough guy but then everybody was just used of me seeing me outbox guys and beat guys and guys never win one round. Today was more like a competitive fight,” said Mayweather.

“For the judges, I guess, it wasn’t enough to win the fight we did everything possible needed to do to win this fight,” said Maidana.

Despite Mayweather’s win, British boxing sensation Amir Khan says that the American boxer has lost some of his skills.

“He is getting older now. He is showing a lot of mistakes he is not the same fighter he used to be,” said Khan.

Meantime, outside the boxing ring, a brawl took place between fans of Mayweather and Maidana’s fans as they were exiting the arena after the fight.

It resulted in a number of injuries.

The MGM Grand released a statement via Twitter assuring guests of their safety.

Meantime, a fight between Mayweather and Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao has yet to happen.

Mayweather has said that for as long as Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, is in the picture, he will not fight the Pacman.

Ali is smart to say that Mayweather should fight the Pacman ? It will look like the fight of the century Mayweather vs Pacman. Hey Bob Arum you made a lot of money from Pacman fights ? The whole world want to see Mayweather vs Pacman, so if I was you stay out out the picture because Mayweather has said he don’t want you around the match, so if you like everyone else want the fight to happen? Stay back and watch let Mayweather handle the Mayweather vs Pacman ? Pacman will make more money with Mayweather ?
