Activists protest US aid to Philippine National Police

Human rights defenders also marched to the Trump tower to send US President Donald Trump a message: to stop sending $184.5 million worth of US aid to the Philippine National Police and armed forces of the Philippines.

Human rights defenders took to the streets in New York City, demanding justice.

The Philippine Commission on Human Rights is currently investigating about 1,500 questionable cases in the Duterte administration’s drug war, where CHR says the death toll estimate could be as high as 27,000.

According to the Philippine National Police data, nearly 5,000 deaths related to Duterte’s drug war were recorded from July 2016 up to August 2018.
