As heads of state and other high international officials from around the world gathered to present their views about pressing world issues at the United Nation’s annual general assembly this week, another world meeting aimed to provide people’s perspective on world issues also took place.
The People’s General Assembly on Development Justice was organized and attended by grassroots organizations such as the Philippines’ Ibon International Foundation and the Indigenous People’s Major Group.
Grassroots groups brought up issues of land grabbing, poverty, and workers’ migration.
