(February 22, 2016, Los Angeles, CA) — ABS-CBN Global Remittance, Inc. (ABS-CBN) filed a lawsuit today against Island Pacific supermarket entities and their owner, Jefferson “Nino” Miave Lim, and other members of the Lim family. The ABS-CBN lawsuit alleges that the Island Pacific entities and the Lim family conspired to defraud ABS-CBN in connection with ABS-CBN’s remittance business.
In the current lawsuit, ABS-CBN asserts four causes of action against the Island Pacific Supermarket entities and the Lim family members, including (1) fraudulent conveyance, (2) fraud, (3) aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, and (4) conversion. ABS-CBN also seeks punitive damages in this case, which is pending in Los Angeles Superior Court as case number BC611130.
