Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, several of the biggest names in music and entertainment — including Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera — are singing Disney songs to entertain home-bound fans through the “Disney Family Singalong” on ABC on Thursday night, 4/16.
The TV special will raise funds for Feeding America, an organization that gives food and support to families facing hunger — especially during the pandemic as thousands of Americans lose their jobs.
The show also aims to get families to have fun and sing along to Disney songs they grew up with.
One of the headliners is self-confessed Disney fan, Fil-Am actor-singer Darren Criss, who is scheduled to sing “I Wanna Be Like You” from the Jungle Book.
The original leading lady of “High School Musical,” Fil-Am actress Vanessa Hudgens, is also expected to reunite with her costars for a rendition of their hit “We’re All in This Together.”
“High School Musical’s” latest star from Disney Plus, Fil-Am Olivia Rodrigo, will also be joining the one-hour show.
Hyping up the event is “Club Mickey Mouse” star, Fil-Am dancer and choreographer Gabe De Guzman, who’s posting dance tutorials for the Disney songs that are featured on the show.
Also singing in the special is “Moana” herself, Auli’i Cravalho, who will perform her iconic song “How Far I’ll Go” — while Josh Groban will sing “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from “Toy Story.”
After the Disney family singalong, viewers can also look forward this Saturday to “One World: Together at Home” on various American TV networks and with global airings.
The event will celebrate health workers in the local communities and around the world, and will support the World Health Organization in their heroic work during the pandemic.
