GLENDALE — For a night, TFC offices in North America looked a lot like Christmas in the Philippines, with the 2nd annual Kapamilya Reunion.
The event was full of food, Christmas joy, and the cheers of loved ones chatting over a holiday meal, and reconnecting with family.
“Sometimes akala ko adjusted na, ako pero may mga times parin na miss na miss ko yung presence Mila,” said Amopola Cruz.
Lyra Estibal has been away from her relatives in the Philippines for nearly two decades, as she lives out her American dream with her family here.
“19 years hindi pa naka uwi pa pasko, so parang kasama ko rin silas,” said Estibal.
“I have children at tsaka mahal ng ticket king December, ang dami natin, anim kami.”
The Cruz family cheered with joy as they chatted with other family members, hanging out with celebrities at the ABS-CBN headquarters in Manila.
The holiday fun didn’t stop at the video call with loved ones, as families were treated to a boatload of prizes, and enjoyed a Salo-Salo meal.
“Humarap ng paraan kung paano mga kapamilya nag ka Layo mag kasama sama somehow, ngayon ka paskohan, thru etong Atin kapamilya reunion. Dahil isang Pamilya tayo. Maligayang pasko po!” said TFC’s Ariel Angeles.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, similar excitement filled the TFC headquarters, and the event a warm way for hardworking kapamilya overseas to reunite with loved ones.
