Lady Gaga used her considerable star power to assemble the “Together at Home” fundraiser that united some of the biggest talents in music, philanthropy, and entertainment.
Former first ladies Michelle Obama and Laura Bush also boosted calls for support for medical professionals, sanitation and grocery workers, and delivery staff.
Some A-listers who shared their time and talent for the Global Citizen “One World: Together At Home” event included Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones, Oprah and Bill Gates.
They raised funds mostly from philanthropists, private donors, and companies to contribute to the World Health Organization’s solidarity response fund.
This comes amid President Trump’s decision to cut U.S. funding for the WHO amid the coronavirus pandemic.
