OAKLAND, CA — The Golden State Warriors front office says that every night could be Filipino heritage night at Oracle Arena — but Sunday night’s game against the Utah Jazz was the second official one of the season.
Filipino pride and talent was showcased to all the fans in attendance.
Fans who purchased the Heritage Night event ticket went home with these special edition warriors Filipino heritage shirts.
“When we sing national anthems for these huge games, especially Warrior games, we’re freaking out all the time. And also representing our culture is the most amazing thing,” said VJ Rosales, one of The Filharmonic, who performed the national anthem.
The ABS-CBN Foundation was also on hand at Oracle Arena giving fans the opportunity to purchase shirts — which proceeds will go toward helping feed the impoverished children in the Philippines.
Without the powerhouse all-stars on the floor due to injury which includes Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant — the Warriors fell to the Jazz, 110 to 91.
