9/11 anniversary: Why the war on terror is not a war on Islam

STIRLING, N.J. – When the dust settled after the 9/11 terror attack and it was revealed that terrorist group Al Qaeda was responsible for the death of nearly 3,000 people from the Pentagon to the World Trade Center, there was a backlash against Muslims and Middle Eastern Americans.

Fourteen years later, Islamophobia still exists.

According to research by the Arab American Institute, favorable attitude toward American Muslims continued to decline from 35 percent in 2010 to 27 percent in 2014.

On the 14th anniversary of 9/11, Father Sidney Griffith, a professor of early Christian studies and an award-winning advocate of interfaith dialogue says Christians, Muslims, and even Jews are not so different after all.

Qur’an is God’s word as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through an angel named Gabriel, quite similar to the Christian bible — God’s word is manifested through Jesus Christ.

“Allah, is simply a contraction of two words: ‘Al’ which means ‘the’, and ‘Illah’ meaning ‘God’, so The God – Allah,” Griffith said. “Now that’s the same word Christians use when they pray in Arabic, the same word Jews use when they pray in Arabic, it’s the same word Muslims, obviously when they pray in Arabic.”

President Barack Obama previously said, America is not at war with Islam, and that groups like Al Qaeda, ISIS and ISIL are terrorists masquerading as religious leaders in defense of Islam.

“Of course the terrorist do not speak for over a billion Muslims who reject their hateful idealogy,” said Obama. “We should not grant these terrorists the religious legitimacy that they seek. They are not religious leaders. They are terrorists. And we are not at war with Islam, we are at war with people who perverted Islam.”

Fil-Am Moro Princess Potri Ranka Manis believes that there is really no divisions between Muslims and Christians.

“I-educate ang mga Pilipino. Both Muslims and Christians have to be educated that we are not supposed to be divided because of the religion. We have to realize na ginamit yung religion to divide us,” she said.

As America commemorate the tragic events of 9/11 that changed the world forever, these leaders say we should not mistake the war on terror as a war with Islam.

After all, they say Islam is a religion of peace and love just like the Catholic faith.

all the talks /claims of the muslims, that islam is a peaceful religion do not hold water. in general the muslims of the world do not mobilize in one voice in condemning the overwhelming terror attacks the islamists were / are continuing, by engaging in endless violence to kill those they all call the infidels. the number one on the terrorist’s infidels list is the satan america, and its people. the muslims simplistic explanations of the parity of islam religion to christianity is nothing, but smoke screen of the reality of their failure in assertively denouncing the terrorists’ beheading of christians, as well as their intolerant of other religion. case in point, in muslim nations, building christian church is considered offensive. muslim refugees invading europe are refusing to drink bottled water with the insignia of the red cross, as if the cross is a curse to them. anybody who buy the claims of the muslims that islam religion is peaceful were taken to the cleaners alright. obozo always defend the islam religion, which is his rights to do so, but what is not right is his claim of being a christian, with all of his language / body posturing tells it all of his knowledge of the islam faith, more than the christian faith. this is why the muslim nations are unstable with ISIS, ISIL fiery invasions of the shia muslims with obozo refusing to call them terrorists, caused the unprecedented massive muslim refugees, or is this a ploy to spread their sharia laws worldwide for their belief of islam religion to be effective is, every single infidel in the world must convert, or face death of beheading.
