TORRANCE, CA — The family of a missing Filipino grandfather is asking the community for help after he went missing on Tuesday afternoon.
A critical missing person alert has been issued by the Torrance Police Department in the case of 82-year-old Francisco Bartolome Candelario.
His daughter, Myra, tells BA she was the last one to see her dad in their house around 3 pm on Tuesday — before he disappeared.
She said Candelario has early onset dementia. That afternoon, Myra said her father packed up his bags — like he would do on a regular basis — because he’d been wanting to go back to their old home in Chicago, but they would always manage to convince him to stay.
But that afternoon, after Myra left the house, she said Candelario drove away.
He was last seen in a maroon and black Nike jacket in Torrance, California.
He drove away in a silver Honda Odyssey minivan with license plate SKYLEE1.
His family believes he’s headed to Chicago.
If you’ve seen Francisco Candelario, please call the Torrance police department or his daughter Myra at (562) 213-7708.
