TORONTO, CANADA — In its fourth year, kababayans flocked to Taste of Manila this weekend of August 19 and 20 to get a taste of home away from home.
It’s dubbed as “Little Manila” – Bathurst and Wilson is the hub of many Filipinos in Toronto, who have come to live and work in the area. And as the Filipino population continues to grow, they have also have set up shops and businesses.
When the Taste of Manila food festival started four years ago, it drew a crowd of about 70,000.
It continued its success well into its third year in 2016. Festival organizers say the event saw 350,000 visitors last year.
The annual festival has always been well-attended by Canadian government officials who come to support their Filipino constituents.
