REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – US prosecutors have charged two North Carolina men in a murder-for-hire plot in the Philippines.
Adam Samia and Carl David Stillwell were arrested and charged last week in connection with the 2012 death of a Filipina in the Philippines
According to the Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara, both were hitmen who were hired to travel to the Philippines.
They reportedly shot their unnamed target multiple times in the face, on or around Feb. 12, 2012, before leaving her body in a pile of garbage.
Samia and Stillwell were allegedly promised $35,000 each to commit the murder.
Their arrest is connected to the prosecution of Joseph Manuel Hunter, a former US Army sniper who allegedly recruited former US and European soldiers as contract killer.
